New York, NY
This Soho loft is the home to a productive New York artist and the owner of an influential fashion store in Miami, Florida. In an effort to maximize light exposure, communal areas are aligned with a series of four large window bays. Massive display walls are situated throughout the apartment to showcase the couple’s large art collection and separate more intimate spaces. These walls are punctured with horizontal and vertical glass strips, which provide light and air to the rooms beyond. Vertical surfaces, finished in neutral white, peach, and yellow, float on a refinished dark grey floor. Custom millwork pieces, such as a full-wall bookcase of black ash and ten marble varieties, create graphic interest and moments of color.
