These eight custom furniture pieces for the Printing House reinterpret conventional form and technique while remaining relatable and sophisticated. An unexpected mix of form and material are juxtaposed to create a new a language for residential furniture. The palette of materials includes: luxurious brass, walnut, grey-stained ash, ceramic tile, wool, and lacquer.
The collection includes A CUTE BUT OBTUSE, an entertainment console with a drop-down projection screen; MUSCLES SR. AND MUSCLES JR., a 7’ aluminum and brass frame with light, the FLIP – UP BED, composed of ash ‘tiles’ with brass ‘grout’ and operable ‘flip-up’ side tables, and the MIRIAM BAYLOCK VANITY CABINET, which serves as vanity, display, and seating.
